It is made from ground beef and a simple sauce made of four ingredients and savory and sweet notes we love at half the price and in less time.

It’s delicious. G and I go through our rice bowls and lick them clear!

It’s not just that this Korean beef dish is an affordable one-pan meal. It’s also versatile! You can serve it on top of white steamed rice to make a quick one-bowl meal, and just as tasty, wrapped in fresh lettuce leaves for a healthy alternative.

The seasoned meat can fill egg rolls, wontons, tacos, and quesadillas to create a distinctive combination of east and west flavors. It is easy to transform it into a complete meal by mixing chopped carrots, fresh vegetables, diced zucchini and chopped cabbage.

Tips to Cook

  • Finely chop the ginger, or, better yet, grate it, squeeze the juice, and then stir in the marinade. So, you can enjoy all the flavor without tiny pieces of ginger. Fresh ginger is preferred. However, ground ginger can work in the form of a pinch. Add 1/4 teaspoon ground and mix in the soy sauce marinade to distribute evenly.
  • Half, one teaspoon of red pepper flakes is just enough spice for us. However, you can adjust it to suit your personal preferences or completely omit them to make it more child-friendly.
  • If you’re adding veggies, cut them into small pieces, so they cook together with your ground meat. Lightly cook the meat, then add the sauce, give the Beef a few minutes to cook, and absorb any liquid. Once the Beef is nearly done and most of the sauce has been reduced, add the vegetables and let them cook another few minutes or until they’re tender.
